The original building was built to double as an apartment house. The National Bank of Malvern has conducted business in this building on the corner of King Street & Warren Avenue since April 1, 1887.

The East Whiteland Branch is unique. The Bank's stone architecture was chosen to harmonize with the rural, farm house style prevalent in this area. The stone, used to build the building in 1973, came from a rural Chester County barn destroyed by fire.
